Stockholm – October 13, 2026 -- Sinch AB has added Rich Communication Services (RCS) to its native integration with SAP Engagement Cloud, giving businesses on the platform a seventh messaging channel alongside SMS, MMS, WhatsApp, LINE, Viber and KakaoTalk.
Marketers can send RCS messages directly from SAP Engagement Cloud
Businesses using SAP Engagement Cloud can now create and send RCS messages to customers globally, where supported, without leaving their existing marketing environment. RCS supports branded and verified senders, rich media and interactive buttons inside the native messaging app on the customer's phone, which SMS cannot offer.
The integration is available only in markets where RCS Business Messaging is supported.
Integration links RCS conversations to sales and SAP Service Cloud
Sinch says the integration turns basic automated chats into AI-powered conversations. Across marketing, sales and service use cases, businesses can convert customer interactions into completed sales. They can also hand conversations off to human agents in SAP Service Cloud. SMS fallback is built in to extend reach and reliability.
Sinch frames RCS as the next step in its SAP partnership
Jonathan Bean, EVP EMEA & AI Partnerships at Sinch, called the addition "a natural next step" in the partnership with SAP. He said it gives businesses another way to reach customers with branded experiences while managing communications from a platform they already use. Bean pointed to revenue growth, customer lifetime value and competitive differentiation as the intended outcomes.
Sinch did not disclose pricing, customer numbers or rollout dates for the RCS channel.
