SQAIRZ Launches Medical Division to Tackle $80B Fall-Risk Crisis

Windham, N.H. – September 15, 2026 -- SQAIRZ, a biomechanically driven performance footwear company, has launched SQAIRZ Medical, a new division targeting fall risk among aging adults through a combined footwear and clinical assessment platform.

Fall injuries cost the U.S. healthcare system more than $80 billion annually

One in four U.S. adults over age 65 falls at least once a year, a figure that rises to one in two for adults over 80, according to SQAIRZ. The company positions SENTRX, its purpose-built Balance & Stability footwear, as the centerpiece of a broader clinical framework aimed at reducing that risk.

SQAIRZ pairs 3D gait assessment with tiered clinical intervention

The SQAIRZ Balance & Stability Program uses Kinetisense Risk of Fall and Gait Assessment technology to measure walking speed, stride pattern, body sway and compensatory movement, generating a fall-risk percentage for each patient. Results feed an individualized stability plan that escalates from neuromuscular education for lower-risk patients to orthopedic solutions, including SENTRX footwear and Thrive Orthopedics lateral or anterior AFO bracing for higher-risk cases. Follow-up testing allows providers to track outcomes over time.

Clinical pathway ties into Medicare coverage and provider documentation tools

SQAIRZ Medical has built its program around clinical adoption and reimbursement mechanics, incorporating Thrive Orthopedics AFO pathways identified under billing codes L1952 and L1933. The division supplies provider education, treatment-pathway guidance, chart-note templates and letters of medical necessity. Company patient materials indicate SENTRX footwear may be covered through Medicare depending on qualification, with HSA/FSA payment also available.

A multidisciplinary Medical Advisory Board is shaping clinical protocols

The division draws on advisors from orthopedics, podiatry, physical therapy, biomechanics and sports medicine, including physicians and researchers with experience across leading medical institutions and professional sports. Dr. Paul Klutts, DPM, Director of Fellowship for Kentucky and Indiana Foot and Ankle, said SQAIRZ Medical treats stability as a system connecting risk measurement, footwear intervention and ongoing clinical care. Dr. Larry Benz, PT, DPT, Founder and CEO of Confluent Health, said the integrated model could help clinicians move from reacting to falls toward earlier risk identification.

SQAIRZ extends its athletic footwear expertise into an aging-population market

SQAIRZ built its original business on biomechanically engineered footwear for golf, baseball, softball and pickleball. Bob Winskowicz, Founder and CEO, said the new division applies the same foundational research on ground contact and stability to a different life stage, framing the goal as helping people maintain mobility, confidence and independence as they age.
