Ottawa, ON – September 07, 2026 -- Enterprises that embed real-time data into their workflows are more than three times as likely to see measurable results across the majority of their AI projects, according to a new IDC InfoBrief sponsored by Solace. The study, based on a survey of 623 senior technology decision-makers at companies with over $1 billion in revenue across eight countries, found that organizations classified as real-time data leaders report roughly 23% average annual gains in speed to market, risk reduction, and responsiveness to change.

Governance leaders report 62% strong ROI versus 4% for laggards

The second annual Data and AI Impact Report: The New Economics of Trust surveyed 2,699 decision-makers across 28 countries and four industries -- banking, insurance, life sciences and the public sector. Organizations with the strongest governance, data quality and auditability practices reported at least double the ROI of peers, while fewer than one in 20 'laggard' organizations achieved comparable results. AI leaders with trustworthy practices realize 1.85 times greater gains across 13 business outcomes, including revenue growth, cost savings and customer experience, and 85% of these leaders are increasing investment by more than 10% this year.

Arlington – September 04, 2026 -- Some 72.5% of organizations are currently invested in data management solutions and plan to increase that spending, yet many governance programs remain fragmented and produce activity without measurable impact, according to Info-Tech Research Group.

Governance priority tops both AI and non-AI data agendas

Info-Tech's Future of IT 2026 Survey found that improving data governance ranked as the leading data priority for supporting AI goals, cited by 30% of respondents, and outside AI, cited by 40%. The research group says this points to a disconnect between heavy investment in management solutions and unresolved governance decisions needed to guide them.
