Hong Kong – October 12, 2026 -- American Express has become Title Sponsor of the inaugural American Express Hong Kong Sail Grand Prix, which opens the Rolex SailGP Championship 2027 Season on January 23-24, 2027 at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal.
The deal gives the card issuer integration across the SailGP Race Stadium and the wider event experience. SailGP describes the format as a mix of high-speed racing, premium hospitality, technology and entertainment.
American Express Cardmembers get first access to tickets on October 21-22
Eligible Cardmembers receive priority booking from 10am HKT on Wednesday, October 21 until 5pm HKT on Thursday, October 22, or until allocations are exhausted. They also receive exclusive savings on ticket purchases and other race-day experiences.
SailGP+ members follow with a presale from 10am HKT on October 23 to 5pm HKT on October 26, also subject to availability. General public sales open at 10am HKT on Tuesday, October 27. SailGP says tickets are limited.
Waterfront Grandstand tickets start at $700 for a single day

Hong Kong event carries the "M" Mark from the Major Sports Events Committee
The Major Sports Events Committee has awarded the event its "M" Mark, a designation for signature events on the territory's sports calendar. It is SailGP's first event in Hong Kong.
SailGP CEO and co-founder Sir Russell Coutts called Hong Kong an incredibly important market for the league and said American Express was an ideal partner for launching the event. Walter Liu, Head of Asia Region at American Express, said the sponsorship is meant to give Cardmembers privileged access and exclusive benefits at a world-class sporting event.
Hong Kong opens a 13-event 2027 calendar ending in November or December
Australia follows in Perth on February 20-21, then San Francisco on April 3-4 and Bermuda on May 1-2. The calendar also includes Halifax, New York, Portsmouth, Sassnitz, Valencia, Rome, Rio and Dubai, with Dubai set for November 20-21. The Season Grand Final is scheduled for November or December, with the date to be confirmed.
