Toronto – September 16, 2026 -- Lorex Technology has launched a V7 4K PoE camera and a 16-channel VF network video recorder (NVR), extending its Connect V Series into commercial-grade surveillance territory for properties requiring wider coverage and higher-capacity storage.
V7 camera adds facial and license plate recognition when paired with new NVR
The V7 camera introduces the V Series' strongest low-light performance to date, capturing color footage without spotlights and covering wide areas such as driveways, storefronts or parking lots that previously required multiple units. When connected to the VF NVR, it enables license plate and facial recognition alerts regardless of lighting or weather, and includes Lens Distortion Correction to straighten wide-angle footage. The unit carries an IP67 all-weather rating.
VF NVR scales to 16 channels with expandable local storage and no mandatory subscription
The VF NVR manages up to 16 active camera channels and provides the processing power needed for the V7's recognition features. It offers expandable on-device storage capable of retaining weeks of footage without cloud subscription fees, and runs on QuietTek fanless cooling to minimize noise in residential or office settings. It joins the existing 8-channel VC NVR, which targets smaller deployments and includes smart search tools for locating specific recorded events.
Tiered camera lineup now spans V3, V5 and V7 for differentiated deployment needs
The V3 camera provides baseline detection for people and vehicles alongside deterrence lighting and siren functions. The V5 adds intrusion, line-crossing and tampering detection along with AI-assisted low-light color processing and customizable deterrence lighting. The V7 now sits atop this structure, bringing the series' most advanced detection and low-light processing to its highest tier, allowing operators to configure systems by property zone and risk level.

All V Series cameras use Power over Ethernet to transmit power and high-definition video over a single cable, a design intended to simplify installation across both residential and commercial sites.
