BOSTON – October 27, 2026 -- Mutual Benefit Group (MBG) has selected four Duck Creek products, Policy, Billing, Producer Portal and Clarity Data Foundation, to run a greenfield build of its future-state platform for a new business in Delaware, Duck Creek announced.
MBG to launch three commercial lines in Delaware
The Delaware business will start with Businessowners Policy, Commercial Umbrella and Workers' Compensation coverage. MBG will expand into other states only once it has proven out the model, according to the company.
Existing Duck Creek Claims and OnDemand use anchors the expansion
MBG already runs Duck Creek Claims and Duck Creek OnDemand. The new deployment extends that cloud foundation to the new lines of business, and MBG plans to apply the internal platform expertise it has built over time.
The platform is intended to let MBG configure products efficiently, streamline quote-to-bind and policy servicing, and offer digital experiences to independent agents and policyholders. Duck Creek's configurable architecture, commercial lines content, analytics and SaaS operating model are meant to speed time to market while keeping costs scalable as the business grows.
MBG CEO Gary Williams targets a market launch on the carrier's own timeline
Williams, MBG's President and CEO, said a mutual entering a new state needed a foundation built around how independent agents and policyholders want to work, "not something we'd have to reshape later." He added that the platform lets MBG bring the business to market on its own schedule.
Strategically, the initiative supports plans to offer competitively priced products aligned to MBG's risk appetite and to pursue profitable growth through disciplined underwriting.
Chris McCloskey, Duck Creek's Chief Operating Officer, said the platform gives MBG the speed to bring tailored commercial products to market and a foundation that can evolve with AI as the business grows.
