D3Energy Energizes 1.4 MW Floating Solar at Universal Epic Universe

Orlando – October 06, 2026 -- D3Energy has energized a 1.4 MW floating photovoltaic system at Universal Epic Universe, part of a broader 3.7 MW on-site solar program expected to generate more than 6.7 million kilowatt-hours annually -- enough to power over 900 homes.

Epic Universe becomes first theme park to earn LEED Platinum certification

The certification was awarded under LEED for Communities: Plan and Design, with the overall three-installation solar program managed by Qcells and the floating solar component delivered by D3Energy.

Floating array links solar generation directly to electric bus charging

Power generated by the floating system is stored in batteries during the day and used overnight to charge Universal's electric bus fleet, connecting solar generation, battery storage and electric transportation in a single operational loop.

DENSO Solar Facility in Athens, TN Offsets 14% of Plant's Power Use

Athens, Tenn. – October 01, 2026 -- DENSO Manufacturing Athens Tennessee (DMAT) has generated more than 3,200 MWh of electricity through August from a new 5.25-megawatt solar facility, offsetting an estimated 1,125 metric tons of carbon emissions since launching in May.

Solar facility covers 18.8 acres with over 10,000 modules

The installation, built on the north side of DENSO's Athens property, ranks among DENSO's largest onsite renewable energy projects in North America. At a nameplate capacity of 5.25 megawatt alternating current (MWac), the system is expected to offset nearly 14% of DMAT's annual power consumption once fully operational for a full year.

Ørsted Starts 200 MW Blackwater Solar Project in New Mexico

Austin – September 30, 2026 -- Ørsted has begun construction on Blackwater Solar, a 200 MW solar farm in Roosevelt County, New Mexico, marking the Danish energy developer's first project in the state.

Project will supply power equivalent to 56,000 homes under long-term contract

Located between Portales and Clovis, Blackwater Solar is backed by a long-term power purchase agreement designed to meet rising industrial electricity demand within the Southwest Power Pool territory. The facility will generate enough electricity annually to power the equivalent of more than 56,000 homes. Ørsted sourced the project's solar panels from domestic manufacturer First Solar. Commercial operations are expected to begin in late 2027.

PowerBank Gross Margin Jumps to 34.7% as Net Loss Narrows $6.8M

Toronto – September 29, 2026 -- PowerBank Corporation (NASDAQ: PBK) posted a 34.7% gross margin for fiscal year 2026, up from 25.3% a year earlier, as the renewable energy developer shifted from selling projects to retaining ownership of its power portfolio.

Revenue fell to $27.4 million but profitability metrics improved sharply

Revenue for the twelve months ended June 30, 2026 dropped to $27.4 million from $41.5 million in FY2025, reflecting the Company's pivot away from development-and-EPC sales toward long-term asset ownership. Despite the top-line decline, gross profit reached $9.5 million versus $10.5 million a year prior. Net loss narrowed to $24.3 million, or $(0.58) per basic share, from $31.1 million, or $(0.97) per share, in FY2025. Adjusted EBITDA fell to a loss of $3.5 million from a loss of $0.8 million, driven by lower development and EPC revenue alongside higher operating expenses.

Envision Energy Launches 16.7 MW EN-252 Offshore Turbine for High-Wind Sites

Hamburg – September 24, 2026 -- Envision Energy has launched the EN-252/16.7, a 16.7 MW offshore wind turbine engineered for high-wind sites, with the company projecting a 2-4% reduction in levelized cost of energy for gigawatt-scale wind farms.

Turbine cuts unit count by roughly 10% while lifting energy output

The EN-252/16.7 carries a swept-area-to-power ratio of approximately 2.99 square meters per kilowatt. For a gigawatt-scale offshore project, Envision states the turbine can generate 1-2% higher annual energy output while requiring around 10% fewer units than currently available turbines, translating into the estimated LCOE reduction depending on site conditions and project configuration. The design also allows uprating at suitable sites, offering further scope to cut turbine numbers and capital expenditure.
