Burgettstown, Pa. – October 02, 2026 -- 6K Additive Inc. (ASX: 6KA) has executed a final US$27.4 million loan agreement with the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) to fund expansion of its critical materials manufacturing plant in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania.
EXIM finalizes largest Make More in America loan for advanced materials
The facility, approved by EXIM's board on December 4, 2025, is the first deal structured in coordination with the U.S. Department of War's Defense Production Act Title III initiative and the largest loan issued under EXIM's Make More in America Initiative (MMIA) for advanced materials and manufacturing to date.
Loan proceeds reimburse ongoing equipment and infrastructure purchases
Funds are immediately available to reimburse 6K Additive for equipment and infrastructure costs tied to its expansion project, which includes construction of four new buildings at the Burgettstown site to increase nickel, titanium and refractory powder production.
Facility carries fixed 5.38% CIRR with six-year term
The loan has a six-year term, with drawdown available through June 30, 2028, and an initial 12-month interest-only period followed by five years of amortizing principal payments. It carries a fixed Commercial Interest Reference Rate currently published at 5.38%, with a 0.5% annual commitment fee on undrawn commitments.
The facility comprises up to US$25.2 million for eligible project costs plus up to US$2.2 million to finance EXIM's 8.9% exposure fee on disbursements, producing an all-in annual borrowing cost of approximately 6.86% at current published rates.
Expansion targets titanium, tungsten, C-103 and nickel alloy output
The investment supports production of titanium, tungsten, C-103, nickel alloys and other advanced metal powders made using 6K Additive's UniMelt microwave plasma technology from qualified domestic feedstocks. The process is designed to meet DFARS compliance requirements set by the U.S. Department of War for aerospace and defense procurement.
