Lake Orion – October 13, 2026 -- American Battery Solutions (ABS) has introduced Aventor, an 800-volt heavy-duty battery platform delivering 113 kWh of energy and 358 kW of peak discharge power, with customer samples planned for 2027 and production starting in Q1 2028.
Aventor is designed, engineered and assembled in the U.S. with domestically sourced cells, and is built to support BABA-compliant OEM programs. Initial capacity is set at 6,000 battery packs annually, or approximately 0.7 GWh.
Aventor claims 300 Wh/L volumetric density and up to 200 Wh/kg
The platform is rated at 300 Wh/L volumetric and up to 200 Wh/kg gravimetric energy density. ABS says it supports fast charging from 10% to 80% in 42 minutes or less, a metric aimed at high-utilization applications where charging time affects productivity.
The pack is built and validated for up to 10 years of heavy-duty design life. The standard enclosure is dust-tight and certified to IP67 for immersion and IP69K for high-pressure washdown.
Two form factors share one common architecture
The Chassis-Integrated Pack is the standard offering, optimized for packaging efficiency and energy density. It can be installed between frame rails or in other constrained horizontal locations, including roof-mounted installations.
The Hyper-Rugged Cube Pack uses a more rugged enclosure and load-path strategy for environments with the highest levels of vibration, shock and utilization. It supports multiple installation orientations and mounting faces.
Wire-free BMS adds cell-group diagnostics and cybersecurity
The wire-free battery management system is intended to reduce system complexity and improve reliability. It combines ultra-high-precision voltage and temperature measurement at every series element with a microprocessor and onboard data storage at every cell group.
Safety features include cybersecurity protections, over-the-air update capability, active isolation monitoring, vent-gas detection and anti-propagation technologies, according to Jeffrey Donaldson, SVP engineering at ABS.
Platform targets ASIL-C, FMVSS 305a, UL 2580 and ECE R100 requirements
Aventor is designed to align with functional-safety, regulatory and certification requirements including ASIL-C under ISO 26262, FMVSS 305a, UL 2580 and ECE R100. By handling these requirements at the battery-platform level, ABS aims to simplify OEM integration, validation and compliance.
Development runs under ABS' IATF 16949-certified quality management system. ABS founder and CEO Subhash Dhar said the platform is meant to give heavy-duty OEMs more energy, more uptime and a foundation to scale electrification across their portfolios.
ABS will show Aventor at The Battery Show North America, booth #5400.
