Madison, Wis. – September 27, 2026 -- Accuray Incorporated (NASDAQ: ARAY) has signed agreements with Samsung HME America's NeuroLogica Corp. unit to pursue advanced volumetric imaging capabilities for its CyberKnife System, the companies announced at the ASTRO Annual Meeting in Boston.
Samsung's mobile CT expertise meets Accuray's robotic radiosurgery platform
The collaboration pairs Samsung NeuroLogica's mobile computed tomography and volumetric imaging technology with Accuray's precision treatment delivery, robotic radiosurgery and motion-management systems. No commercial product has been announced; the partnership will proceed through phased technical, clinical and commercial evaluation subject to regulatory requirements.
The Royal Marsden becomes first site to explore the technology
Professor Nicholas van As of The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, chief investigator of the PACE trials that established five-fraction radiotherapy as a standard of care for select localised prostate cancer patients, said his centre is the first worldwide to participate in the Accuray-Samsung NeuroLogica collaboration. He said combined imaging could eventually support adapting treatment to a patient's daily anatomy alongside real-time motion tracking.
Clinicians target thoracic, abdominal and pelvic cancer applications
Jonathan Lischalk, Clinical Director of Radiosurgery at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, said the potential clinical use extends to lung, pancreatic and prostate cancer treatment, where understanding target-to-organ relationships at treatment time drives clinical decisions. Lischalk is scheduled to present at Accuray's clinical session at ASTRO on September 28.
Accuray CEO frames deal as part of a build-versus-partner strategy
Steve La Neve, President and CEO of Accuray, said the company is applying a deliberate mix of internal development and strategic partnerships rather than building every capability in-house. Boris Geyzer, Head of Business, Mobile CT at Samsung HME America, said the collaboration originated from clinical demand for better anatomical visualization inside the treatment room.
The agreement follows Accuray's August 27, 2026 Annual Report filing with the SEC and adds to the company's roster of imaging-focused partnerships as it competes in the radiation oncology equipment market.
