Adient Names Board Member Peter Carlin as New CFO

Plymouth, Mich. – September 19, 2026 -- Adient (NYSE: ADNT) will appoint board member Peter Carlin as executive vice president and chief financial officer effective Nov. 16, 2026, succeeding Mark Oswald, who departs the same day.

Carlin exits the board to join management on Oct. 1, 2026

Carlin will step down from Adient's board of directors on Oct. 1, 2026, and join the automotive seating maker as vice president, finance, ahead of his CFO promotion six weeks later. He has served on Adient's board since 2018.

Board shrinks to seven directors following Carlin's resignation

Adient's board has voted to reduce its size to seven directors, effective on the date of Carlin's resignation from the board, Oct. 1, 2026.

CEO Jerome Dorlack frames the move as continuity for operational momentum

"I look forward to welcoming Peter to our management team as we build on the company's positive momentum and continue to drive the business forward," said Dorlack, Adient's president and chief executive officer. Board chair Frederick A. Henderson credited Carlin with providing "valuable insights and counsel" to management and fellow directors since 2018.

Adient, which employs more than 65,000 people across 29 countries and operates roughly 200 manufacturing and assembly plants worldwide, supplies seating systems and components to all major automotive OEMs.
