Advita Ortho Launches Axis, Backed by 25,000-Patient Shoulder Database

Gainesville, Fla. – September 21, 2026 -- Advita Ortho has launched Axis, a clinical research platform drawing on more than 20 years of shoulder arthroplasty data covering over 25,000 patients across 45 clinical sites worldwide.

Two decades of data produce 250 peer-reviewed studies

The dataset behind Axis has generated more than 250 peer-reviewed publications and dozens of first-to-market product innovations, according to the company. Chris Roche, Advita Senior Vice President, Extremities, said the initiative distills findings from the company's highest-impact studies into a format designed for practicing surgeons.

Axis website centers on Equinoxe research team findings

The platform features summaries called "ORbits," which outline the clinical questions behind published studies and include video interviews with the researchers who conducted them. The site also details the Axis Research Council, clinical site locations and data collection methodology.

Researcher cites sample sizes reaching 2,000 cases

Joseph Zuckerman, MD, a member of the research team, said the scale of the database sets it apart from competitors, noting studies now report outcomes across 300 to 2,000 cases rather than samples of 30 to 50 patients. He said no other orthopedic company holds a database of comparable size and history.

New studies presented at ICSES in Vancouver and ISTA in Munich

Advita presented new research this week at the International Congress of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (ICSES) in Vancouver, Canada, covering the accuracy and learning curve of computer-assisted navigation, CT-based radiomics, predictive analytics and infection risk factors in shoulder arthroplasty. Last week, the company presented shoulder and knee studies at the International Society for Technology in Arthroplasty (ISTA) in Munich, Germany, examining computer-assisted navigation, implant design, dynamic alignment and machine learning outcomes.

Surgeons can subscribe to Axis for alerts on new published studies.
