Las Vegas – – September 20, 2026 -- Allegiant Travel Company (NASDAQ: ALGT) has been named 2026's Best Low-Cost Airline in North America by Skytrax, marking the third consecutive year the carrier has won the title. The airline received the award during Skytrax's World Airline Awards ceremony in London, an event widely regarded as the industry's top honor for customer service.
Skytrax survey counted 24.8 million eligible entries from over 100 nationalities
The rating organization conducted the world's largest airline passenger satisfaction survey to determine the winners, running from September 2025 through August 2026. "We congratulate Allegiant on this fabulous achievement by winning this third successive award as North America's Best Low-Cost Airline," said Edward Plaisted, Chief Executive Officer of Skytrax, citing strong customer recognition of the airline's service standards.
Award lands as Allegiant integrates Sun Country Airlines into a combined 200-aircraft fleet
The recognition comes amid Allegiant's ongoing integration with Sun Country Airlines, which itself won the same Skytrax honor in 2023. The combination creates a value-focused carrier with a combined fleet of nearly 200 aircraft serving almost 175 cities across the United States. The two airlines continue operating under separate brands and booking systems for now, with Allegiant targeting a single operating certificate and unified customer experience over the next two years.
"Three years running is a reflection of the consistency our team members bring to every flight," said Greg Anderson, Allegiant's Chief Executive Officer. "As we bring Sun Country into the Allegiant fold, awards like this matter because they're a customer verdict, not just ours."
Wall Street Journal and J.D. Power rankings add to Allegiant's 2025 accolade tally
Allegiant was ranked the #2 U.S. airline overall and the top-ranked value carrier in The Wall Street Journal's 2025 airline rankings. The carrier was also named among the top three U.S. airlines and the #1 ultra-low-cost carrier in J.D. Power's North America Airline Satisfaction Study. Combined with the scale gained through the Sun Country merger, Allegiant is applying its recognized service standards across flight attendants, ground crews and support teams throughout the merged network.
