Washington – October 14, 2026 -- The American Land Title Association (ALTA) has inducted Craig Haskins, a title insurance executive with more than 30 years of industry experience, as president for the 2026-2027 association year.
Haskins runs Knight Barry Title across four states
Haskins is president and CEO of Milwaukee-based Knight Barry Title, where he oversees operations and growth across Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan and Florida.
Within ALTA, he has served on the Board of Governors and as vice chair of the Best Practices Work Group, as well as on numerous committees and engagement groups. He currently sits on the board of directors of the Florida Land Title Association and previously served as president of the Wisconsin Land Title Association.
New president targets member engagement, technology and fraud prevention
Haskins plans to strengthen ALTA's impact by fostering collaboration and elevating member voices. He also intends to keep evaluating how technology, fraud prevention and evolving industry practices can improve the way title professionals work while preserving the protections at the core of the industry.
"My job as president is to listen," Haskins said, adding that he wants to encourage more members to join the conversation.
ALTA CEO Chris Morton said Haskins' collaborative approach will help the industry pursue technology and innovation to better serve consumers, strengthen fraud prevention and protect property rights.
Board of Governors draws leadership from major underwriters and agents
Tara Smith of First American Title Insurance Co. is president-elect. Brian Pitman of Independence Title serves as treasurer, and David Scott of Old Republic National Title Insurance Co. chairs the Finance Committee.
Lisa M. Steele of Mother Lode Holding Co. chairs the Agents Section, with Deborah S. Bailey of Bailey Helms Legal and Quinn H. Stufflebeam of Title Financial Corp. as representatives. Mary Thomas of Stewart Title Guaranty Co. chairs the Underwriters Section, with Steve Black of Westcor Land Title Insurance Co. and Christopher Hinton of Premier Land Title Insurance Co. as representatives.
David A. Townsend of the FNF Family of Companies is immediate past president.
