Alameda – September 17, 2026 -- Alveo Technologies has signed a distribution agreement with Alliance Global (AGBL) to deploy its on-farm avian influenza diagnostic across Africa, Central Asia and select Eastern Mediterranean countries, as global bird flu outbreaks have infected at least 633 million domestic birds worldwide, including more than 208 million in the U.S. alone.
Alveo Sense Poultry gains distribution rights across three continents
Under the deal, AGBL secures rights to distribute Alveo's palm-sized molecular diagnostic platform to farmers, integrators and public health officials throughout Africa, Central Asia and portions of the Eastern Mediterranean region. AGBL operates as a biomedical distribution group with offices in more than 17 countries across the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
Companies target food supply chain vulnerabilities amid rising outbreak risk
The agreement pairs Alveo's rapid, point-of-need testing technology with AGBL's regional distribution network to deliver on-site avian influenza detection for compliance, quality control and public health protection. Scott Thomas, chief commercial officer at Alveo, said the partnership gives the company direct access to farmers, integrators and health officials in regions currently affected by outbreaks.
Global rollout marks expansion of regional commercial network
The AGBL agreement makes the Alveo Sense Poultry platform available globally, extending the company's point-of-need testing network into new markets. Nassim Marie Hambouz, vice president of operations at AGBL, said the goal is to give regional officials a fast, accurate method to determine flock infection status and act quickly to limit disease spread.
