SHERIDAN, WYOMING – July 23, 2024 – Amcor, a global leader in responsible packaging solutions, and AVON, a pioneering beauty and personal care company, today announced the launch of the AmPrima™ Plus refill pouch for AVON's iconic Little Black Dress classic shower gels in China. This groundbreaking collaboration signifies a major step forward in sustainable packaging within the beauty industry.

Pioneering Sustainable Packaging

The AmPrima™ Plus refill pouch, crafted from recyclable materials, is designed to reduce the environmental impact of product packaging significantly. Amcor and AVON estimate an impressive 83% reduction in carbon footprint, alongside an 88% and 79% decrease in water consumption and renewable energy usage, respectively, when the pouch is recycled.*

This innovative packaging solution aligns with AVON's ambitious sustainability goals, which include using 100% reusable, recyclable, or compostable packaging materials by 2030 and increasing the use of recycled content in its plastic packaging to 50% by the same year.

A Winning Combination of Functionality and Sustainability

Amcor's AmPrima™ product range is designed to empower brands to achieve their sustainability targets without compromising on product performance or consumer experience. The AmPrima™ Plus refill pouch delivers the same barrier properties, stiffness, graphics quality, and production speeds as non-recyclable alternatives while offering convenience and ease of use for consumers.

"This collaboration with AVON is a testament to Amcor's commitment to providing innovative and sustainable packaging solutions that meet the evolving needs of both brands and consumers," said Roawin Luo, Global Director of Product Management at Amcor. "We are proud to have partnered with AVON to create a refill pouch that not only reduces environmental impact but also enhances the overall customer experience."

AVON's Commitment to a Sustainable Future

AVON has long been a champion of sustainability and social responsibility within the beauty industry. This latest initiative reinforces the company's dedication to minimizing its environmental footprint while continuing to offer high-quality products that resonate with consumers.

"Partnering with Amcor, a global leader in packaging, has enabled us to develop a truly transformative product," said Abby Deng, Marketing Head of AVON China. "By integrating a refill format with recycle-ready materials, we are offering consumers a more sustainable way to enjoy our iconic AVON Little Black Dress shower gels. This is a significant step in our ongoing journey toward a more sustainable and responsible future."

Expanding the Sustainable Packaging Portfolio

The 350ml refill pouch for AVON's Little Black Dress classic shower gel is now available in China. Building on this success, AVON and Amcor are already collaborating on extending the AmPrima™ range to include a refill pouch for the Shimmer Shower Gel, expected to launch later this year. This is just the beginning of a series of planned recycle-ready solutions that will further demonstrate the companies' shared commitment to a greener future.
