Columbus, Wisconsin – October 12, 2026 -- American Packaging Corporation (APC) has introduced APC FlexCube, a preformed cuboid-shaped pouch built to improve the product-to-package ratio and reduce excess headspace in large-format products.
The geometric format is designed to make more efficient use of packaging, shipping and shelf space while giving brands a distinctive, high-impact shelf presentation.
FlexCube Is Available in Recycled-Content and Recyclability-Designed Structures
APC can produce FlexCube in a broad range of material structures, including options from its RE® Sustainable Packaging portfolio. These include structures with post-consumer recycled (PCR) content and design-for-recyclability options. Brands can match barrier performance, appearance and material selection to application requirements and sustainability priorities.
APC defines "design for recyclability" as a package designed to meet current technical recyclability guidelines, such as those of the Association for Plastic Recyclers. The company states this does not guarantee local recycling access or that the package will be recycled. Actual recyclability depends on the complete package structure, acceptance by local recycling programs and proper consumer disposal.
APC Ties Package Geometry to Material Optimization
Seth Holmen, Vice President of Research & Development at APC, said the cuboid geometry gives brands a stronger shelf presence while helping them reduce headspace and optimize material use.
APC Will Show FlexCube at PACK EXPO International 2026 on October 19-20
The company will present FlexCube at its Lounge & Learn hospitality and education event on Monday, October 19, and Tuesday, October 20, held in conjunction with PACK EXPO International 2026. The two-day program covers market forces shaping flexible packaging and new solutions aimed at package performance, consumer convenience and brand sustainability goals.
