AssetWatch Launches Continuous Motor Current Monitoring

Dublin, Ohio – October 13, 2026 -- AssetWatch, Inc. has launched AssetWatch Electrical Monitoring, a continuous motor current monitoring solution that requires no capital expenditure and targets faults in AC motor-driven assets that vibration sensors can miss.

Sensor tracks RMS current across all three motor phases

The solution continuously monitors RMS current on all three phases of AC motors. It flags overload conditions, power transmission problems such as slipping belts or failing couplings, and current unbalance that shortens motor life.

AssetWatch says electrical and load-related issues can develop with little or no early vibration signature. Periodic spot checks see a motor only during a technician's visit, while continuous monitoring catches problems as they develop rather than at the next scheduled check.

The system also records runtime and duty cycle data. Reliability teams get a behavioral baseline showing which assets run hardest and carry the most operational risk.

Panel-mounted wireless sensor avoids hard-to-reach motors

The wireless sensor installs in the electrical panel instead of on the motor. That allows rapid deployment and around-the-clock monitoring of equipment where vibration sensors are difficult to place.

Fourth technology joins vibration, temperature and oil analysis

Electrical Monitoring joins AssetWatch's continuous vibration monitoring, temperature monitoring and oil analysis. According to the company, vibration catches mechanical degradation, current detects electrical and load-based faults, temperature confirms thermal consequences, and oil analysis supplies internal wear data between sampling intervals.

All findings flow into the AssetWatch platform, where AI and dedicated Condition Monitoring Engineers (CMEs) work together. CMEs act as an extension of the customer's maintenance and reliability team.

Jaidev Krishnan, VP of Condition Monitoring Engineering, said that viewing electrical and vibration data side by side lets teams pinpoint whether a fault is electrical, mechanical or process-related and fix it correctly the first time.

Patrick Carmitchel, VP of Product Management, said the product is meant to avoid months of implementation or specialized engineering expertise.

Launch webinar scheduled for November 17

AssetWatch Electrical Monitoring is available now. The company will hold a launch webinar, "First Look: AssetWatch Electrical Monitoring," on November 17, featuring a product overview, live demo and open Q&A.
