Hamilton, Ontario – September 09, 2026 -- AtomVie Global Radiopharma has opened a new $160 million manufacturing facility in Hamilton, Ontario, that the company calls the largest single-site radiopharmaceutical CDMO plant in North America.
New 72,300-square-foot plant multiplies manufacturing capacity tenfold
The purpose-built facility at 10 Aeropark Boulevard spans 72,300 square feet and increases AtomVie's manufacturing capacity by more than ten times its previous output. The site is designed to handle low- to high-volume production runs and supports a continuous path from early-stage clinical development through commercial-scale manufacturing.
Facility scales operations from clinical trials to commercial supply
AtomVie positions the plant to let partners transition products through the full lifecycle without changing manufacturing sites, offering adaptable space for future client needs. CEO Bruno Paquin said the facility strengthens the company's global distribution track record and scientific expertise to support partners' product portfolios from development through commercialization.
Company traces roots to McMaster University research center, plans 200-person workforce
AtomVie originated as a spinout of the Centre for Probe Development and Commercialization (CPDC), a center of excellence based at McMaster University established to advance Canadian leadership in radiopharmaceutical innovation and manufacturing. The company expects its workforce to exceed 200 employees by the end of 2026 as the new facility ramps toward full operation.
Track record spans 1,000+ cGMP batches and 4,400 doses across 28 countries
Over more than a decade, AtomVie has supported over 70 clinical development and technology transfer programs, manufactured more than 1,000 batches under cGMP standards, and supplied over 4,400 cGMP doses to patients in 28 countries across six continents, maintaining a delivery success rate above 99%. Board Chairman Kevin McNeill said the new facility gives AtomVie commercial-scale capacity to serve partners with the reliability the sector demands.
