Penzberg – September 09, 2026 -- The digital vocational-training platform Ausbildungskompass received the "Excellent" rating in the special category "Digital Administration: Benefits for Citizens and Businesses" at the Best of Technology Award 2026, presented on September 3, 2026 in Düsseldorf.
The award, given annually by WirtschaftsWoche in cooperation with Handelsblatt Media Group, consulting firm Capgemini, scientific partner Fraunhofer ISI and knowledge partner Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), recognizes IT applications and future technologies that simplify processes and create measurable value for business, government and society.
Platform consolidates fragmented vocational-training processes into one system
Ausbildungskompass connects schools, companies, regional economic development agencies, and students on a single platform. The tool analyzes student strengths and interests, organizes applications and job-requirement profiles, coordinates scheduling, and manages the full career-orientation process, replacing standalone regional tools with one integrated system.
32 German counties now deploy the platform, company reports
Managing Director Monika Uhl said 32 counties (Landkreise) currently use Ausbildungskompass, with data and experience from these regions feeding continuous platform development.
Bertelsmann Foundation data shows 2.8 million young adults lack vocational qualifications
Uhl cited a new Bertelsmann Foundation survey on training perspectives showing nearly 2.8 million young adults in Germany remain without a vocational qualification, with young people holding lower school-leaving certificates disproportionately affected. She said the platform's mission is to remove barriers to career entry before young people become stuck in transitional systems.
Award follows 2025 runner-up finish at Munich Digital Innovation Award
Ausbildungskompass placed second at the 2025 Munich Digital Innovation Award for its digital concept, prior to receiving the 2026 Best of Technology "Excellent" rating. The platform stores all data on German servers in compliance with GDPR.
