Autoliv Adds Two Experts to Safety Research Advisory Board

Stockholm – October 02, 2026 -- Autoliv, Inc. (NYSE: ALV; SSE: ALIVsdb) has appointed Natalie Draisin and Thomas Manfred Müller to its Research Advisory Board, expanding a panel of external experts that guides the automotive safety supplier's long-term research agenda.

Autoliv broadens external expertise with public health and automotive industry veterans

Natalie Draisin serves as Director of the North American Office and United Nations Representative at FIA Foundation and is an External Affiliate at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Thomas Manfred Müller, PhD, is a board member, advisor and business angel with executive experience at Audi, BMW, Volvo Cars, and Volkswagen Group.

Board now spans ten members from science, policy and industry

The Research Advisory Board includes injury biomechanics specialist John Bolte IV, former BMW Group vehicle safety chief Klaus Kompass, former Toyota R&D fellow Seigo Kuzumaki, and MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics researcher Bryan Reimer. Autoliv's own leadership is represented by CEO Mikael Bratt, Chief Technology Officer Fabien Dumont, and Vice President Product and Technology Management Malin Ekholm.

Autoliv's safety products saved approximately 40,000 lives in 2025

The company reported 2025 sales of $10.8 billion and said its products reduced around 600,000 injuries last year. Autoliv operates in 25 countries with 13 technical centers and 64,000 employees.

"Safety challenges are becoming increasingly complex as mobility systems evolve," said Cecilia Sunnevång, Vice President Research & Early Innovation at Autoliv, noting that combining expertise from public health, policy, technology and the automotive industry helps the company identify opportunities to reduce fatalities.

Board's mandate covers injury biomechanics, automation and transportation systems

Members contribute expertise spanning injury biomechanics, vehicle safety, public health, automation, transportation systems and innovation management, according to Autoliv. CEO Mikael Bratt said the board connects scientific research, industry developments and societal trends to inform the company's safety solutions roadmap.
