BLAZE Launches Headless E-Commerce API for Cannabis Retailers

Los Angeles – September 13, 2026 -- BLAZE has launched the BLAZE E-Commerce API, a headless commerce solution giving licensed cannabis dispensaries and multi-state operators full creative and technical control over their online storefronts while retaining compliance, inventory, and payment infrastructure required in regulated retail.

API grants developers full access to product, cart, order, and compliance data

The BLAZE E-Commerce API allows teams to build fully custom websites or in-store kiosks. It connects natively with BLAZE Retail POS, syncing inventory, pricing, and order data between a dispensary's physical and digital storefronts with minimal maintenance.

BLAZE documents the API for AI coding assistants, not just human developers

The company publishes a structured, agent-readable API reference, including a machine-readable specification. Development teams can point an AI coding assistant at the documentation to scaffold working storefront code against real endpoints, reducing time spent translating documentation into boilerplate during migration deadlines.

CEO says the API lets small teams build storefronts that once required larger crews

Chris Violas, CEO of BLAZE, said cannabis retailers have repeatedly cited their storefront as one of the last places to differentiate their brand, and that they should not have to trade that freedom for correctly handled compliance and inventory. He added that the API is documented well enough that a small team using AI coding tools can stand up a storefront backed by the same retail infrastructure that already powers thousands of daily dispensary transactions.

Rollout targets new and existing customers, plus agencies managing migrations

The BLAZE E-Commerce API is now available to new and existing customers as well as agencies. BLAZE also offers support for SEO preservation, data migration, and minimizing downtime during storefront transitions.
