Kielce – September 12, 2026 -- Blighter Surveillance Systems is targeting expanded sales of its low-power, long-range surveillance radars across Central and Eastern Europe, showcasing its 2D, 3D and 4D electronic-scanning array systems this week at the MSPO International Defence Exhibition in Kielce, Poland, running September 8-11, 2026.
The Cambridge, UK-based radar maker is presenting its full portfolio on stand 2-D05, including dedicated ground, coastal and air surveillance radars, multi-mode systems for simultaneous land, sea and air monitoring, and its AI-assisted BlighterNexus control software.
Blighter's B422 radar detects targets at 32 km using just 4 watts of power
The company's flagship B422 long-range radar can detect, track and classify small and near-ground targets at ranges up to 32 km while drawing only 4 watts of transmit power. Its low size, weight and power (SWaP) design and Low-Probability-of-Intercept waveforms make it suited to fixed and mobile border surveillance, with field-proven 24/7 operation in all weather conditions, including fog.
Engineering team addresses low-flying drone threats exploiting ground clutter
Blighter says its engineering team has built a solution to counter one-way attack drones and low-flying unmanned systems that exploit ground clutter reflections and radar multipath fading to evade traditional air defence and counter-UAS systems. The company applies its ESA antenna technology combined with micro-Doppler signal processing to detect these below-the-radar threats.
Company reports another strong sales year across Central and Eastern Europe
Mark Radford, co-founder and chief technology officer at Blighter, said Central and Eastern European countries are investing heavily in border security against a widening range of threats, requiring operators to detect people, vehicles and covert vessels in coastal regions. He said it has been another strong year for the company's border surveillance radar sales in the region, as customers adopt its commercial-off-the-shelf radar products along their borders. At MSPO, Blighter aims to build new contacts, reinforce existing partnerships, and discuss the drone-detection capability of its ground radars.
UK government officials meet Blighter team to discuss regional defence role
During MSPO, Blighter representatives met with senior UK government officials to discuss the company's growing footprint in Central and Eastern Europe and the role of British radar technology in regional border security and defence programs.
Blighter radars are deployed by the UK Ministry of Defence for forward operating base protection, the South Korean Army along the Demilitarised Zone, the United States Air Force for drone detection, and multiple Five Eyes and NATO customers on mobile surveillance and armoured vehicles.
