Singapore – October 14, 2026 -- Caladan's Cayman Islands entity, CLDN Cayman Ltd, has been registered with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) as a Registered Person under the Securities Investment Business Act (SIBA), effective 7 October 2026.
Caladan builds its derivatives business on the Cayman registration
The proprietary trading group and digital asset liquidity provider plans to develop its institutional derivatives business through CLDN Cayman Ltd. The registration gives the firm a regulatory foundation in the Cayman Islands for that expansion.
Julia Zhou, President of Caladan, said the registration supports the next stage of the firm's institutional derivatives strategy.
Caladan assesses tokenised real-world asset markets
The group is also assessing opportunities in tokenised real-world assets (RWAs), including financial instruments that fall within the securities investment business framework. Caladan intends to explore liquidity provision and market-making in these assets as traditional financial assets increasingly move onchain.
Activities remain bound by permitted scope and counterparty limits
Any activities would stay within the relevant entity's permitted scope and be offered only to eligible counterparties. They remain subject to applicable law and any additional regulatory permissions required.
Caladan said it does not offer products or services to retail investors or the public in Singapore, where it is headquartered. Dealings with persons in Singapore are limited to institutional, expert and accredited investors and to products permitted under Singapore law. No Caladan group company is licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
