CHINT Unveils Grid Tech Portfolio for AI-Driven Power Demand at CIGRE 2026

Paris – September 03, 2026 -- CHINT, a global provider of integrated power and energy solutions, presented a full portfolio of grid modernization technologies at CIGRE 2026 in Paris, targeting utilities grappling with surging electricity demand from AI infrastructure and data centers.

CHINT unveils 1,000 kV low-loss transformers and SF6-free switchgear for European grids

Under its Green Power Grid & High Voltage line, the company displayed 1,000 kV low-loss, low-noise oil-immersed power transformers and 750 kV natural ester oil-immersed transformers. It also showcased SF6-free medium- and high-voltage switchgear, including 24 kV, 145 kV and 420 kV gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), positioned as environmentally compliant alternatives amid tightening sustainability requirements across European power networks.

13.8 MW PCS Integrated Substation targets faster energy storage deployment

CHINT introduced a 13.8 MW PCS Integrated Substation featuring a plug-and-play, turnkey design intended to cut on-site installation time and space requirements for large-scale energy storage and renewable integration projects. The oil-free configuration is designed to reduce system losses while minimizing risks of oil leakage, pollution and noise compared with conventional substation designs.

Company adds solid-state transformers and data center power pods to product line

The exhibit included cascading energy storage systems, solid-state transformers (SSTs), solid-state circuit breakers (SSCBs), and Data Center Power Pods, extending CHINT's coverage from high-voltage transmission and substations down to distribution, storage and end-use power applications.

CHINT executive links data center power demand to substation innovation

Dr. Naihu Li, Vice President of CHINT T&D and Head of the CHINT Group R&D Institute, said the company's data center power supply solutions are anchored by integrated substation capabilities spanning 400 kV transmission interfaces through medium-voltage distribution, with battery energy storage embedded within substation packages to address peak demand management and frequency response.

Beibei Zheng, Vice President of CHINT Global, said customers are increasingly seeking integrated, future-ready power partners rather than standalone product suppliers as AI, renewable energy and electrification reshape Europe's power landscape.

Engineering teams engaged utilities and EPC contractors on substation and data center projects

During CIGRE 2026, CHINT engineering specialists held discussions with utilities, EPC contractors, consultants and technology partners covering high-voltage transmission, substation modernization, sustainable power distribution, energy storage and data center power supply applications.
