Spirox Unveils SP7000G to Speed Glass Substrate Crack Inspection

Hsinchu – September 10, 2026 -- Spirox Corporation (TWSE: 3055) has launched the SP7000G High-Speed TGV Crack Inspection System, a tool capable of scanning a full 510 mm x 515 mm glass substrate panel in under 20 minutes to detect internal microcracks in high-volume Glass Core and Through Glass Via (TGV) manufacturing.

New system targets microcrack detection after critical build-up processes

The SP7000G is designed to identify internal microcracks that emerge after metallization and Ajinomoto Build-up Film (ABF) processes, key stages in advanced packaging production. Spirox positions the system to improve inspection efficiency, monitor process quality and defect distribution, and optimize manufacturing yield as TGV technology scales toward high-volume output.

Lab Glassware Market to Hit $9.17B by 2031 as Plasticware Surges

Delray Beach, Fla. – – September 10, 2026 -- The global laboratory glassware market is projected to grow from USD 7,630 million in 2026 to USD 9,170 million by 2031, a compound annual growth rate of 4.0%, according to new data from MarketsandMarkets.

Plasticware commands 68% of market share as labs shift away from traditional glass

Plasticware, which includes pipettes, beakers, racks, bottles and containers, accounted for 68% of the laboratory glassware market in 2025. Within this segment, polyethylene products are forecast to post the fastest growth rate in the category, at 4.5% CAGR between 2026 and 2031. The shift reflects laboratory demand for lightweight, shatter-resistant, single-use consumables that improve contamination control and reduce costs across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, contract research organization and food & beverage labs.
