Chronic disease burden drives demand for remote monitoring
Sensor patches are adhesive, skin-worn devices that measure signals such as glucose, cardiac activity, and temperature and transmit the data wirelessly to a smartphone, cloud platform, or clinician. The World Health Organization links chronic disease to about 41 million deaths a year, roughly 71% of all deaths worldwide. The International Diabetes Federation estimates that about 589 million adults aged 20-79 had diabetes in 2024.
As care shifts to remote and home settings, continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and ambulatory cardiac patches are becoming core tools for managing long-term conditions outside the clinic.
