OpenCV Foundation Partners With Qualcomm on Snapdragon Windows Support
Palo Alto, Calif. – September 17, 2026 -- The Open Source Vision Foundation (OSVF) is building native OpenCV binaries for Windows on Snapdragon, working directly with Qualcomm Technologies to close a gap for computer vision developers targeting Snapdragon X Series-powered Windows devices.

The project scope covers native OpenCV binaries built specifically for Windows on Snapdragon, automated build-and-test infrastructure designed to ensure quality at scale, targeted software optimizations for performance, and compatibility work to resolve existing dependency issues within the library.
Development will move from experimental native builds toward validated releases distributed through OpenCV's established open-source channels, with all improvements passing through the organization's existing review and testing processes.
