San Francisco – September 23, 2026 -- Corgi Insurance has expanded its trucking insurance program to cover towing and tow-truck businesses, bundling three previously separate coverages into a single policy.
Corgi combines Auto Liability, On-Hook Coverage and Garage Keepers into one policy
The new towing program merges Auto Liability, On-Hook Coverage and Garage Keepers coverage under one carrier, eliminating the need for towing operators to source multiple policies across separate insurers.
Towing operators face liability for vehicles they transport and store, not just road risk
Unlike traditional freight haulers, tow trucks carry core exposure from handling, transporting and storing other people's vehicles rather than from road mileage alone. Josh Shih, Head of Underwriting at Corgi, said tow truck operators remain responsible for a customer's vehicle both while towing it and, in some cases, while it sits in their care.
Program builds on Corgi's existing commercial trucking insurance line
The towing expansion extends Corgi's broader trucking program, which already provides coverage for commercial transportation businesses with specialized risk profiles. Towing businesses previously had to piece together coverage across multiple carriers to address auto liability, on-hook exposure and garage keepers risk separately.
