San Francisco – October 02, 2026 -- Corgi Insurance has launched a new insurance program covering data centers across their entire lifecycle, from construction through operations, including coverage for GPU hardware powering AI workloads.
Program consolidates coverage previously spread across multiple carriers and policies
Corgi's program bundles builders' risk and delay-in-start-up coverage for construction phases with property, infrastructure, and business income coverage once facilities become operational. The infrastructure coverage spans power systems, cooling, and UPS equipment, protecting against losses when covered incidents take a facility offline.
Corgi introduces residual value protection for GPU assets
The program addresses GPU hardware specifically, offering residual value protection designed to help treat GPUs as financeable assets. This coverage targets equipment supporting AI and high-performance computing workloads inside data centers.
Program targets colocation operators, GPU cloud hosts, and enterprise facilities
Corgi designed the offering for colocation operators, GPU cloud and AI compute hosts, enterprise and edge data centers, and developers building new facilities. The company positions the program as a response to insurance infrastructure lagging behind the pace of data center buildout driven by AI and cloud computing demand.
"Data centers are becoming some of the most important infrastructure in the world, but the insurance around them hasn't evolved at the same pace," said Nico Laqua, co-founder of Corgi. "We're building insurance around the entire data center, from the moment construction starts to the hardware running inside it."
