Dentsply Sirona Donation Brings Digital Dentistry to Underserved Communities in Atlanta

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – August 26, 2025 – Dentsply Sirona has announced a landmark donation to Atlanta’s Ben Massell Dental Clinic, equipping the historic nonprofit with state-of-the-art digital dentistry technologies. The initiative marks one of the most significant technology upgrades in the clinic’s century-long history, designed to expand access to care for underserved patients while streamlining clinical workflows.

Transforming Care with Digital Dentistry

The donation includes an integrated digital suite featuring two Primescan AC intraoral scanners, a CEREC Primemill milling machine, a CEREC SpeedFire sintering furnace, and a Primeprint 3D printer. Together, these tools will enable the clinic to offer same-day crowns, bridges, and faster denture turnaround times—reducing processes that once took months to a matter of days.

The package also includes consumables such as resins, ultrasonic scalers, Midwest handpieces, and implant solutions. For a clinic serving more than 1,200 patients annually with volunteer clinicians, these enhancements represent both expanded treatment capabilities and improved efficiency.

Closing Gaps in Oral Healthcare Access

Atlanta’s Ben Massell Dental Clinic is the city’s only free provider of comprehensive dental care for patients facing financial hardship. For many, long wait times and limited resources have historically restricted access to advanced procedures such as implants or same-day restorations.

By deploying Dentsply Sirona’s technology, the clinic can:

  • Reduce denture production time from 14 weeks to just days.
  • Offer restorative procedures like crowns and implants previously unavailable.
  • Minimize the number of visits required for prosthetic cases, easing burdens on patients with transportation or scheduling challenges.

Industry Perspective and Volunteer Impact

At Dentsply Sirona, we believe innovation should connect people to care—not create barriers. This donation bridges the gap between advanced dentistry and underserved communities, empowering the Ben Massell Dental Clinic to deliver life-changing treatments with incredible efficiency,” said Bruce Peatey, Group Vice President, Americas RCO at Dentsply Sirona.

Clinicians at the clinic echoed the sentiment. “This is our clinic's greatest technological leap in decades. From same-day crowns to implant-supported dentures, we can now offer treatments that were previously unimaginable for our patients,” said Dr. Jonathan Dubin, a volunteer dentist.

Strategic and Systemic Benefits

Beyond individual treatments, the new systems will help the clinic maximize its operational efficiency, ensuring donations and resources have greater reach. Digital workflows allow clinicians to treat more patients with fewer visits, optimize lab capacity, and redirect savings to community outreach.

Barbara Jones, Director of the Ben Massell Dental Clinic, emphasized the broader transformation: “It’s never about just fixing teeth. Our doctors are changing lives, restoring dignity, opportunity, and both mental and physical health—now in ways we never could before.

A Broader Commitment to Global Oral Health

The initiative is part of Dentsply Sirona’s sustainability program, BEYOND: Taking Action for a Brighter World, which aligns with its goal to enable 25 million smiles by 2025. By combining technology donations with partnerships at the community level, the company is leveraging its market leadership to create both local and global impact.

Healthcare leaders and providers across the dental industry are watching these efforts closely, as they underscore how corporate partnerships can extend advanced care into traditionally underserved markets.
