Pittsburgh – October 15, 2026 -- DICK'S (NYSE: DKS) and its Foot Locker unit expect to hire more than 11,000 seasonal teammates for the 2026 holiday season, with about 8,400 positions at DICK'S banners and roughly 2,900 at Foot Locker banners in North America.
DICK'S targets 8,400 seasonal hires across four store banners
The hiring covers DICK'S Sporting Goods, DICK'S House of Sport, Going Going Gone! and Public Lands locations. The retailer will hold its ninth-annual "National Signing Day" on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, where candidates can interview on-site and meet store leadership at participating locations. Hiring will continue until positions are filled.
Foot Locker adds about 2,900 holiday staff in North America
Roughly 2,900 teammates will join Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, WSS and Champs Sports stores in North America. Michael Keinath, SVP and Chief People Officer at Foot Locker North America, said the company seeks hires who are passionate about sport, sneakers and culture.
DICK'S offers 401(k) match after 30 days to draw seasonal workers
After 30 days of employment, teammates gain access to the DICK'S 401(k) plan, which includes a 100% vested company match with no waiting period. Seasonal staff will also receive competitive hourly pay and associate discounts across participating brands. DICK'S closes US stores and distribution centers on Thanksgiving Day
All DICK'S Sporting Goods, Inc. stores and distribution centers in the U.S. will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026. Online sales will continue through dicks.com and footlocker.com, and retail locations will reopen on Black Friday, November 27.
