EnPower Rebrands as CAMINUS, Scales U.S. Battery Cell Manufacturing

Indianapolis – October 01, 2026 -- EnPower, Inc., a U.S. manufacturer of lithium-ion battery cells, has changed its name to CAMINUS, effective immediately, as the company shifts from a technology-development identity to volume manufacturing for defense, uncrewed systems, and industrial customers.

CAMINUS keeps leadership, facility, and contracts unchanged through the rebrand

Leadership, team, facility, IP portfolio, and existing customer, partner, and supplier agreements remain unchanged under the new name, the company said. Only the corporate identity has shifted, not the operational or contractual footprint built over more than a decade.

The name references a mythological forge, marking a shift to industrial-scale output

Caminus is Latin for the forge that manufactured Jupiter's lightning bolts in Roman mythology. The company said the name reflects its current role: producing cells intended to power autonomous systems and critical infrastructure at scale rather than functioning solely as a technology demonstrator.

Founder Adrian Yao frames the move as a graduation from R&D to industrial mainstay

"Growing a domestic manufacturing powerhouse for performance-driven batteries is becoming a national imperative," said Adrian Yao, founder and CEO of CAMINUS. He said the company operates as one of few wholly American-owned cell manufacturers serving non-commodity markets, positioning itself as an integrator of IP-rich battery innovations developed in the West.

A 92,000-square-foot Indianapolis facility runs powder-to-cell production end to end

CAMINUS operates a vertically integrated 92,000-square-foot facility in Indianapolis covering slurry mixing, electrode coating, automated cell assembly, and formation. The company describes this as a rare domestic capability supporting a supply chain conforming to NDAA Section 842, a statute governing battery sourcing for U.S. defense applications.

The company offers both contract manufacturing and its own cell and pack products

CAMINUS provides contract manufacturing services including toll-coated electrodes and complete pouch cells, alongside its own branded cell and pack products. The company said this dual offering is intended to anchor specialty battery manufacturing within the United States rather than relying on offshore production.
