Entergy Marks 25 Years of Environmental Fund With ~$45M Invested

New Orleans – October 13, 2026 -- Entergy shareholders have invested nearly $45 million in community-based environmental projects across Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas over the 25-year life of the utility's Environmental Initiatives Fund (EIF), the company said as it marked the anniversary.

Shareholder-funded EIF granted $1 million to 11 partners in 2025

Established in 2001, the EIF is a shareholder-funded grant program. In 2025 alone, it provided $1 million to 11 partner organizations. Their work spans wetland restoration, tree planting, biodiversity education and green infrastructure development.

Entergy said the fund complements its broader environmental initiatives, including long-term climate commitments and coastal restoration partnerships.

John Weiss, vice president of sustainability and environmental policy, described the milestone as a reaffirmation of a commitment shareholders made before sustainability drew wide corporate attention.

Entergy cites 2001 voluntary carbon limit as first among U.S. utilities

The EIF launched in the same year Entergy became the first U.S. utility to voluntarily limit its carbon emissions, according to the company. Entergy says it now operates one of the cleanest large-scale power generation fleets in the United States. It also points to its record in environmental reporting and performance across key sustainability indicators.

Entergy launches anniversary webpage with interactive project map

To mark the milestone, Entergy introduced a commemorative webpage. It includes a video message from sustainability leadership, an interactive map of highlighted projects across the service area, and profiles of partner organizations in the region.
