Kochi – September 19, 2026 -- Indian deep-tech startup EyeROV demonstrated its underwater robotics technology to a group of world leaders at the Bharat Innovates Exposition in New Delhi, an event organised by the Ministry of Education as part of the BRICS Summit.

The company's Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) pavilion was visited by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Co-founder and CEO Johns T Mathai presented the ROV technology directly to the leaders, detailing its use in underwater infrastructure inspection, defence operations, maritime security and scientific research. Mathai said the interaction underscored the potential of Indian deep-tech startups on the world stage as the company continues to advance underwater robotics for safety and infrastructure inspection.
Kochi-based firm targets dams, bridges, ports and offshore installations
EyeROV, operating as IROV Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and headquartered in Kochi, Kerala, builds robotic systems for inspecting structures that are difficult to access underwater, including dams, bridges, ports and offshore installations. Its product portfolio covers Remotely Operated Vehicles, Autonomous Underwater Vehicles, Unmanned Surface Vehicles, specialised marine inspection systems and AI-driven data analytics.
Company positions BRICS exposure as milestone toward global expansion
The exhibition marks a milestone in EyeROV's broader push to become a global leader in marine robotics through indigenous engineering, aligned with India's Make in India initiative. The company said it is expanding across international markets with a focus on technology addressing challenges in defence, energy, infrastructure, maritime security and marine research.
