Eyesafe Debuts HT Privacy Film With 12% Higher Transmission at IFA 2026

Berlin – September 07, 2026 -- Eyesafe unveiled two additions to its screen protection platform at IFA 2026, including a privacy film that delivers roughly 12% higher light transmission than standard privacy screens without sacrificing side-angle protection.

Eyesafe HT Privacy cuts the brightness trade-off long tied to privacy screens

Laboratory measurements across leading smartphones and industry reference displays showed Eyesafe HT Privacy achieving 74–75% average light transmission, compared with 66.3% for standard privacy film, according to company data from August 2026. The technology maintained effective side-angle privacy and showed no visible color shift on any tested display, with color difference measured at ΔE2000 ≤1.9. Eyesafe CEO Justin Barrett said the technology delivers a brighter head-on picture while keeping side-angle privacy intact.

Eyesafe Universal replaces device-specific SKU inventories with on-demand cutting

The second launch, Eyesafe Universal, is a single film platform precision-cut on demand for compatible smartphones, tablets and other displays at the retail counter or in service channels. The system is designed to fit devices released after the film has already shipped, eliminating the need for retailers to stock separate pre-cut inventory for each device model. Eyesafe technology is built into the film material itself, preserving clarity, touch response and a self-healing surface.

Volume production for Universal scales through 2027

Eyesafe Universal is available to partners now through evaluation programs, with volume production scaling through 2027. Both HT Privacy and Universal are offered to brands and retailers in CPF or RPF technology variants. Eyesafe is meeting partners at IFA 2026 in Berlin, running September 3–6.
