FAW Trucks Unveils 800V Electric Tractor, 15% Fuel-Saving Diesel Line at IAA Hannover

Hannover – – September 16, 2026 -- FAW TRUCKS will display five vehicle models and nine in-house core assemblies at the 72nd IAA TRANSPORTATION, running September 14-20 at the Hannover Exhibition Grounds, marking the company's push to expand Chinese commercial vehicle exports into Europe.

New diesel tractors cut fuel consumption by 15% through in-house core assemblies

The stand at B10, Hall 24 will feature three CORTRON CS tractors covering diesel and battery-electric powertrains, alongside the flagship CORTRON CS600. The diesel long-haul models use a new generation of internally developed core assemblies to reduce fuel consumption by 15%, a figure aimed directly at fleet operators managing rising fuel costs across European long-haul routes.

Battery-electric tractor supports 1,000A fast charging on an 800V platform

FAW's electric CORTRON CS model runs on an 800V high-voltage architecture with dual-connector CCS2 fast charging rated up to 1,000A, plus an optional single-connector Megawatt Charging System for faster turnaround on long routes. A dual-motor e-axle delivers peak transmission efficiency of 94.5%, positioning the model for operators prioritizing charging speed and drivetrain efficiency in electrified fleets.

Nine core assemblies span diesel, battery-electric and hydrogen pathways

Beyond the vehicles, FAW TRUCKS will show nine self-developed core assemblies, including the GD300 and ER540 Power Domains, covering conventional fuel, battery-electric and hydrogen energy routes. The breadth of the lineup demonstrates the company's in-house engineering across multiple powertrain technologies rather than reliance on a single energy pathway.

Stand organized into four zones tracking a shift from manufacturer to ecosystem provider

The open-plan exhibit is divided into Low Carbon, Zero Carbon, Ecosystem and Future zones, covering conventional powertrain efficiency, new-energy products, full-lifecycle service solutions and intelligent logistics technology respectively. Each exhibit carries a QR code linked to a dedicated microsite, extending the physical display into an online product information channel.

FAW TRUCKS exhibits with five partner firms to present integrated logistics offering

The company will share the stand with FAWER, FAWAY, FAWSN, SmartLink and Zhuoyu Technology, jointly presenting a shift from standalone vehicle manufacturing toward a combined "products + services + ecosystem" model. FAW TRUCKS said it will continue prioritizing independent technology development in multi-energy powertrains and intelligent connectivity as it expands the global footprint of Chinese commercial vehicles.
