Amsterdam – – September 30, 2026 -- Ferrovial has reached commercial close with the Tennessee Department of Transportation for the I-24 Southeast Choice Lanes, marking the state's largest single capital investment and its first public-private partnership.
DriveTN consortium secures 50-year concession for Nashville corridor
The Ferrovial-led DriveTN consortium, which also includes Transurban and Tikehau Star Infra, will finance, design, build, operate and maintain the new lanes under a 50-year concession beginning once the roadway opens to traffic. TDOT selected the consortium for the project in August 2026.
Project adds lanes along 26-mile stretch between Nashville and Murfreesboro
The I-24 Southeast Choice Lanes will introduce new lanes in both directions across a 26-mile section of I-24 connecting Nashville and Murfreesboro. The choice lanes are engineered to deliver more reliable travel times during peak periods while easing congestion in the general-purpose lanes.
Ferrovial expands North American infrastructure footprint
The Nashville deal adds to Ferrovial's existing North American portfolio, which includes five Express Lanes operations across Texas, North Carolina and Virginia, management of the 407 ETR highway in Toronto, and development of the New Terminal One at JFK International Airport. Ferrovial employs more than 22,500 people globally and trades on both Nasdaq and Spain's IBEX 35.
The project is expected to generate jobs, support local businesses, and strengthen economic activity in the fast-growing Nashville-Murfreesboro corridor.
