Footprint Raises $25M Series B to Scale AI Compliance Platform

New York – September 18, 2026 -- Footprint, a builder of AI systems for financial-crime compliance, has closed a $25 million Series B round led by QED Investors, with participation from MUFG, Commerce Ventures, LightBank and Alumni Ventures.

Funding doubles engineering and sales headcount as Footprint opens San Francisco office

Existing investors Index Ventures, Lerer Hippeau, BoxGroup, Operator Partners and Animal Capital also joined the round. The capital will double Footprint's engineering and sales teams and fund a new San Francisco office to support West Coast expansion of its agentic AI infrastructure for enterprise financial institutions.

Percy platform automates AML and KYC investigations end-to-end

The funds will advance Percy, described by the company as the first end-to-end AI operating system built for financial-crime compliance, covering anti-money laundering, enhanced due diligence, know-your-customer, know-your-business and transaction monitoring investigations. Percy operates in plain English, letting compliance teams request reasoning or build new workflows without writing code, and documents every investigation with citations, timestamps and a task-by-task audit trail for regulators.

Trust Fabric infrastructure links case data across banks to flag fraud rings

Underpinning Percy is Trust Fabric, governed infrastructure that builds an organizational memory over time by connecting related signals across customers and cases. The system makes insights and precedents from one investigation instantly available across KYC, sanctions and monitoring functions, helping teams identify fraud rings and repeat bad actors. Trust Fabric also provides agent assurance, continuously checking whether AI agents follow policy and use evidence correctly so quality-assurance teams can inspect the trace behind every finding.

Platform already serves FDIC and OCC-regulated banks plus fintechs Bilt, Nuvei and MoonPay

Footprint's technology currently powers compliance teams at FDIC and OCC-regulated banks and at fintechs including Bilt, Nuvei and MoonPay. The platform is pre-integrated with hundreds of data sources and vendors, including LexisNexis and ComplyAdvantage, allowing Percy to verify findings against trusted sources of truth.

"As AI expands the volume of financial crime in the global economy, we're building the agentic defense system that can expand to meet and defeat it," said Eli Wachs, Footprint CEO and Co-Founder.
