Hannover – September 17, 2026 -- BAIC FOTON delivered its 13 millionth vehicle worldwide at IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026, a GALAXUS 9 unit tested in Spain, as the Chinese commercial vehicle maker pushes deeper into Europe's premium long-haul segment.
FOTON sets 2030 targets of 50% new-energy sales and 40% international sales
The company, which operates in more than 140 countries, used the Hannover show to detail a shift from traditional exports toward a full-value-chain international model. Its European push, branded "In Europe, For Europe," centers on localized production, ecosystem capabilities and regional partnerships rather than pure vehicle shipments.
FOTON plans to build a localized new-energy ecosystem covering nearly 20 European markets, backed by more than 300 service outlets, a German parts center and local assembly operations by 2028. Its BROCK subsidiary will handle connected vehicle services across the region. The lineup spans battery electric, hybrid and hydrogen fuel-cell heavy trucks, buses, light commercial vehicles and pickups.
CAVAN BEACON debuts globally with sub-20-minute fast charging
FOTON introduced the CAVAN BEACON, a zero-carbon intelligent long-haul heavy truck, in its global debut at the show. The platform supports 15 variants across battery electric, battery swapping, and gaseous or liquid hydrogen configurations. Megawatt fast charging takes the truck from 20% to 80% in 18 minutes, with electric range exceeding 600 km and hydrogen range topping 1,000 km.
The truck integrates ICA/HWP driver-assistance systems with 22 functions and is built for Level 4 autonomy readiness. Energy consumption drops 15% compared with prior models, with the 6x4 electric variant consuming 115 kWh per 100 km. The cab includes an AI voice assistant, dual screens and a 1,000 mm sleeper berth.
Seven vehicles and six core components anchor FOTON's Hannover display
FOTON showcased seven vehicles at the event: GALAXUS R9 PHEV, CAVAN BEACON, eGALAXUS D3, DAYSTAR, CAVAN C1, TUNLAND V9 PHEV and eAURORA. The company also displayed six self-developed components, including batteries, electronic controls, e-axles and megawatt charging systems, spanning multiple powertrain types for global deployment scenarios.
