Fukuoka, Japan to Host 21st World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations International Convention in 2026

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – July 30, 2024 – The World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA) has officially selected Fukuoka, Japan, as the host city for its 21st international convention, WFTGA2026. This landmark decision marks the first time the prestigious event will be held in Japan, signifying a major milestone for the country's tourism industry.

The successful bid was spearheaded by the Kyushu Association of Interpreters, Translators and Guide-Interpreters (K-iTG) in collaboration with the Fukuoka Convention Center, the Fukuoka Convention & Visitors Bureau, and key Japanese national government bodies including the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Japan Tourism Agency, and Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO).

WFTGA2026 is anticipated to welcome over 2,500 tourism professionals from more than 60 countries and regions,fostering a global dialogue on the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in the tour guiding sector. The convention's comprehensive program will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, workshops, and networking events, providing attendees with invaluable insights and resources to enhance their skills and knowledge.
