Los Angeles – October 06, 2026 -- FullGood Motor, a Beijing-based manufacturer of retro-styled plug-in hybrid vehicles, will make its first U.S. exhibition appearance on Nov. 19 at AutoMobility LA, seeking American assembly partners, distributors and investors to enter the U.S. market.
FullGood Motor targets component-export model rather than direct retail entry
The company plans to export vehicles in component form for final assembly in the United States, with vehicles sold and registered under an American partner's brand instead of through a FullGood-owned retail network. The strategy mirrors the entry path used by nearly every international automaker that has previously launched in the U.S. market through Southern California.
Erelly Cai, vice president of FullGood Motor, said the company wants an American manufacturer to build and sell its designs under its own brand, calling the approach beneficial for both U.S. workers and FullGood's customers.
Company cites strong Chinese sales as it pursues U.S. capital
FullGood Motor points to robust sales performance in China as the basis for its U.S. expansion push. The company is also seeking investment specifically to develop additional vintage-inspired hybrid models drawing on mid-century American design themes.
Summer model, a 7-seat hybrid people mover, will headline the LA showcase
FullGood Motor will display its Summer model, a seven-seat, multi-door vehicle styled after 1950s van culture, during AutoMobility LA's media and industry day on Nov. 19. The vehicle will remain on view through the Los Angeles Auto Show's public run, Nov. 20 through 29, at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The Summer model is currently not offered for sale in the United States, and its American availability depends entirely on partnerships FullGood secures during the show.
Plug-in hybrids are California's fastest-growing powertrain category
According to the California New Car Dealers Association, hybrids took a record 22.1 percent of new vehicle registrations in the state during the first half of the year. Terri Toennies, president of the Los Angeles Auto Show, said FullGood Motor is arriving with a defined mandate to find a partner capable of final assembly and U.S.-branded sales, alongside investors to diversify its lineup.
Industry access, not display space, drives international automaker participation
AutoMobility LA positions itself as a single-day industry convening point for automakers, suppliers, investors, analysts and government officials, followed by a ten-day consumer show. Early bird industry registration for the event is priced at $149 through Oct. 15, rising to $249 from Oct. 16. The official 2026 debut vehicle list is scheduled for publication in late October, with the full AutoMobility LA press conference and main stage schedule following in early November.
