GAC Reports 132% Year-Over-Year Export Growth in First Half of 2026 Across Global Markets

SHERIDAN, WYOMING -- July 09, 2026 -- GAC, the Chinese automotive manufacturer, reported wholesale and retail export volumes more than doubled in the first half of 2026 compared to the prior year period. Total exports reached 121,483 units, nearly matching the full-year 2025 export volume, with a 132% year-over-year increase. The company achieved strong performance across multiple international markets including Latin America, Asia-Pacific, and Middle East regions.

Mexico and Bolivia Lead Latin American Performance

GAC's electric vehicle models secured top-ten positions in Mexico's new energy battery electric vehicle segment from January through May. The AION UT ranked third in the B-segment pure electric vehicle market. The AION ES took second place in the C-segment BEV category. Bolivia maintained consistent results, with GAC holding the position as the best-selling Chinese passenger vehicle brand in Bolivia for consecutive months through the first half.

June Sales Surge Across South American Markets

Brazil recorded a 1,129% month-over-month sales increase in June, with a 24% year-over-year gain. Colombia's June sales jumped 804% month-over-month and 21% year-over-year. Uruguay registered a 66% month-over-month increase and 254% year-over-year growth in June. Paraguay saw June sales rise 469% compared to May. Costa Rica and Venezuela reported May retail sales to end users growing 733% and 223% year-over-year respectively. GAC ranks among the top five electric vehicle brands in Uruguay.

Hong Kong and Singapore Drive Asia-Pacific Expansion

GAC led private electric vehicle sales in Hong Kong SAR in April. The company's cumulative market share from January to May exceeded 11% in that market. Singapore sales increased 77% month-over-month and 30% year-over-year in June. The brand secured second place among local pure electric vehicle brands in Singapore in April with nearly 7% market share. Thailand sales surged 207% month-over-month and 15% year-over-year in June, maintaining leadership in the electric taxi segment.

Southeast Asian Markets Show Triple-Digit Growth

Malaysia recorded a 900% year-over-year sales increase in April. Indonesia sales grew 338% year-over-year in April. GAC consistently ranks among the top three Chinese automotive brands in Cambodia. The company's performance in Southeast Asia reflects expanding distribution networks and product acceptance in markets transitioning to electric mobility.

Middle East and Africa Markets Accelerate

Ivory Coast June sales increased 233% month-over-month and 33% year-over-year. Ethiopia volumes jumped 510% month-over-month and 118% year-over-year in June. Lebanon retail sales to end users grew 50% year-over-year in May, with the EMZOOM model leading the local B-segment SUV market. Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates all registered triple-digit growth rates during the period.

Export Strategy Positions GAC for Continued International Expansion

The first-half export performance positions GAC to potentially exceed 240,000 international unit sales for full-year 2026 if current momentum continues. The company's strategy focuses on electric vehicle models tailored to regional preferences and regulatory requirements. Market penetration varies by region, with established positions in taxi and fleet segments in some markets and private consumer focus in others. GAC's international footprint now spans three continents with active sales operations in over 20 countries.
