GEARWRENCH Launches Shop Cleaning Line for Mechanics' Hand Care

Hunt Valley, Md. – September 15, 2026 -- GEARWRENCH has launched a three-product shop cleaning lineup targeting professional mechanics, expanding beyond its core hand tool business into hand and surface care.

GEARWRENCH introduces Heavy-Duty Hand Soap in two sizes for shop use

The Heavy-Duty Hand Soap ships in an 8 oz. handheld bottle and a 64 oz. refill size, formulated with finely ground pumice and natural clays to remove grease, oil and grime while reducing skin drying common with traditional mechanic soaps. The 64 oz. version includes a patented dispenser usable free-standing or wall-mounted for garage and shop settings.

Company cites customer feedback as basis for reformulated, chemical-light products

Jarrett Wolf, Director of Product Management at GEARWRENCH, said professional technicians directly requested a hand cleaner that removes tough grease without leaving hands dry or cracked, driving the product's development. The soap is made with biodegradable ingredients and carries an Active Clean Citrus scent, positioned as an alternative to harsh-chemical formulas.

Dual-textured Scrubbing Wipes target sink-free cleaning and light paint repair

GEARWRENCH also released Heavy-Duty Scrubbing Wipes, designed with two textures on a single wipe: one side offers abrasion for grease and grime removal, the other a smooth finish. The wipes are intended for cleaning hands, tools, equipment and shop surfaces, and the company states they can also help remove light scratches, scuffs and marks from painted vehicle surfaces.

Both the soap and wipes share the same cleaning formula and citrus scent, extending use cases from personal hand care to vehicle surface maintenance without requiring separate products.

New lineup now available through authorized GEARWRENCH distribution network

The Shop Cleaning lineup is available immediately through authorized GEARWRENCH distributors and retailers, marking the brand's entry into the hand and surface cleaning category alongside its established hand tool portfolio under parent company Apex Tool Group.
