Geotab Investigations creates a single defensible record for incident resolution
The new Geotab Investigations tool consolidates telematics data into one structured workflow, replacing the fragmented, manual process fleets currently use to assemble evidence across operations, insurance and legal teams. It allows data-driven incident search by location and time, event timeline reconstruction using trips and speed data, and integration of external evidence such as photos, video and reports into a single case file with tracked stages from open to closed. Aaron Jarvis, Vice President EMEA at Geotab, said fleet-related incidents have cost companies billions of dollars in litigation and reputational damage largely because critical data remains siloed.
Video coaching expands to third-party cameras at no extra cost
Geotab's video coaching platform, previously limited to its GO Focus Plus and GO Focus Pro hardware, now extends to Lytx Surfsight AI12 and AI14 and Xirgo KP2 cameras via the Geotab Marketplace. Active subscribers gain the feature without hardware changes or additional cost, using Smart Sequence and Magnitude Ranking to prioritize risk events and Smart Driver ID to attribute them to specific drivers.
New Safety Overview Page adds a 0-100 fleet safety score
A redesigned Safety Overview Page will become a native part of Geotab's platform, combining a 0-100 Safety Metric, peer benchmarking, percentile ranking and high-risk driver prioritization into one daily dashboard. GO Focus Plus and GO Focus Pro cameras also gain red-light violation detection at signalised intersections, adding to existing illegal U-turn detection.
European fleets report double-digit reductions in collisions and premiums
Richfords, recipient of the Safety Champion award at the European Geotab Innovation Awards, recorded a 22% reduction in collision risk and a 59% improvement in safe driving behaviors within two months of deploying Geotab Vitality, yielding a 411% return on investment. UK civil engineering contractor Barhale combined Geotab telematics with AI video to cut preventable collisions by 8.8%, eliminate high-risk drivers entirely, and negotiate a 2.7% reduction in insurance premiums despite 40% fleet growth.
Geotab noted the Investigations solution is provided on an "as is" basis and is not an evidence-preservation, legal hold or custodial service; customers remain solely responsible for chain-of-custody and litigation-related data obligations.
