Guangzhou Building Decoration Fair Sees Overseas Visitors Jump 33.4%

Guangzhou – – September 28, 2026 -- Overseas attendance at the 2026 China (Guangzhou) International Building Decoration Fair reached 11,473 visitors, up 33.4% year on year, with participants drawn from 147 countries and regions despite broader market pressures on the sector.

Exhibitor numbers grow as fair concludes at Canton Fair Complex

The 2026 edition wrapped at the Canton Fair Complex with exhibitor growth reported even as the home furnishing and building decoration industry navigates a shift away from a property-driven growth model toward renovation and upgrading. Chen Penghan, Sales Head of CBD Fair, said new opportunities lie in renovation, quality upgrades, intelligent innovation and broader channel development, pointing to early-stage brand globalization, supply-procurement mismatches and incomplete service chains as ongoing challenges.

Organizers restructure 21 exhibition halls into three sectors for 2027

CBD Fair Guangzhou will consolidate its 2027 edition into three concentrated sectors: INTERIOR, EXTERIOR and MATECH. The INTERIOR sector will focus on renovation and better living under China's "Good House" model, spanning metal customization, integrated home solutions, partial renovation, senior-friendly upgrades and full-lifecycle living scenarios while gathering major domestic industry clusters.

The EXTERIOR sector will expand into shading, aluminum products, wood-plastic composites and integrated housing, integrating entrance doors, windows and commercial projects, alongside a new heritage restoration category tied to rural revitalization and cultural tourism. The MATECH sector will bring together international and Chinese players around smart hardware, smart-home integration and CMF solutions, with overseas business matchmaking extending beyond the exhibition period.

"CBD World-Connect" initiative targets emerging-market buyers

The fair is advancing its "CBD World-Connect" initiative to attract buyers from emerging markets and build year-round, full-chain, multi-channel services and matchmaking. Organizers aim to bring in brands with stronger international competitiveness for the 2027 edition, scheduled for July 8-11, 2027, in Guangzhou.
