Geneva – October 02, 2026 -- The employee partnership owning Gunvor Group Ltd has voted to rename the company Centalion Group Ltd and relocate its corporate headquarters from Cyprus to Singapore, marking the next phase after a December 2025 management buyout.
Partnership referendum backs new brand after six-month review
The name change followed a full partnership referendum in July 2026, preceded by six months of employee engagement and market-positioning research conducted by brand specialist Landor. Gary Pedersen, Chairman and CEO of Centalion, said the move reflects "one team, moving together, at the heart of the global energy markets," framing it as a step taken from a position of commercial strength rather than necessity.
Singapore headquarters builds on two-decade presence
Centalion has maintained a presence in Singapore since 2006 and cites the country's legal and financial infrastructure as the rationale for the intended headquarters shift. Main trading offices will remain in Geneva and Houston, where Pedersen is based, alongside Singapore. The company also operates trading hubs in Calgary, London, and Stamford.
Redomicile transfers existing legal entity, not a new incorporation
The relocation involves transferring the existing legal entity to Singapore rather than forming a new structure, meaning counterparty relationships, bank arrangements, and existing contracts remain unaffected. Completion timing depends on finalizing local regulatory approvals and documentation requirements.
Company reports record trading volumes in first half of 2026
Centalion traded record volumes in H1 2026 with a global workforce exceeding 2,000 people. Trading activities span crude oil, refined products, natural gas and LNG, power and battery storage, biofuels, and carbon credits, complemented by a growing metals and minerals business and global shipping operations. The company is also expanding as an investment partner in gas- and power-related infrastructure.
New name rolls out gradually across global subsidiaries
The Centalion name and brand (pronounced Sen-TAL-yon) take effect immediately, though rollout across subsidiaries, trading offices, and other locations will occur over coming months. The company positions itself beyond an "oil trader" label, emphasizing growth in physical energy, metals and minerals markets, and investments tied to the energy transition and global energy security.
