Heartwood Partners Takes Growth Stake in Aviation MRO Firm TXG

Norwalk, Conn. – September 22, 2026 -- Heartwood Partners has made a growth investment in The Xtreme Group (TXG), a Miami-based aviation MRO platform, in partnership with the company's existing management team, the private equity firm announced. The transaction closed on May 29, 2026.

TXG operates a full-service MRO platform across three subsidiaries

Founded in 2013, TXG runs Xtreme Aviation LLC, an FAA Part 145 certificated provider of airframe maintenance and line maintenance across major U.S. airports; Ignite Aero Engines, which specializes in CFM56 and CFM34 turbine engine overhaul; and Aventus Air Leasing II, which handles acquisition, refurbishment, and leasing of aircraft and engines. The company serves cargo, commercial, and charter operators from its Miami headquarters.

Heartwood targets expansion into new geographies and service lines

Ed Tan, Managing Partner at Heartwood Partners, said the firm first connected with TXG CEO Carlos Cock at the annual MRO show and aims to support the company's growth through a low-leverage capital structure. James Jang, Managing Director at Heartwood, said the firm sees opportunity for both organic growth and add-on acquisitions to build on TXG's existing platform.

TXG CEO cites resources for capacity and geographic expansion

Carlos Cock, who founded Xtreme Aviation in 2013, said the partnership with Heartwood provides resources to expand capacity, broaden service lines, and extend geographic reach while maintaining existing quality standards and customer relationships. Heartwood manages more than $1.4 billion in investments and commitments as of December 31, 2025, and is currently investing from its Heartwood Partners IV, LP fund.
