Melbourne – September 28, 2026 -- Heidi, the AI Care Partner used across global health systems, unveiled Heidi II, a platform upgrade that executes the administrative work surrounding patient visits rather than merely documenting them, the company announced.
Heidi supports 2.8 million weekly patient visits and surfaces 10 million follow-up tasks
Until now those tasks were handed back to clinicians to complete manually. The average doctor spends 8.7 hours a week, or 16.6% of working hours, on administration spread across four to six separate systems per visit, according to Heidi.
Heidi's Scribe has recorded 175 million visits and 67 million clinical hours to date
Heidi Evidence has answered more than 10 million clinical queries since launch, and the platform has surfaced over 400 million follow-on tasks since February 2024.
New agents plan and complete tasks including referrals, chart prep and follow-up scheduling
"We started inside the visit by capturing the note and gathering the care context. Now Heidi can create the tasks and complete them from referrals and chart prep to arranging follow ups. It handles that work as a partner, while clinical judgement and approvals remain with the clinician," said Thomas Kelly, Co-Founder and CEO of Heidi.
Clinicians can direct an agent in plain language to pre-chart a full day's patients, run evidence-based analyses on visit or referral records, or sweep a patient panel to flag overdue immunisations, blood tests or screenings.
Agents can be saved as Routines and scheduled across an entire practice
Rather than operating patient-by-patient, saved Routines run across a clinician's or practice's full patient list. Heidi II also interacts directly with the record, calendar, inbox and portal systems a practice already uses, flagging tasks it cannot complete and explaining why.
Clinical approvals remain with clinicians under a staged, region-by-region rollout
Every agentic run requires approval controls set by the clinician or organisation, and dedicated internal clinical safety teams review features before and after release. Heidi II's capabilities are being staged by region and care setting.
Peer-reviewed content from NEJM, Wiley, Cochrane and BMJ Group is now embedded directly in chat
New connectors let Heidi pull appointment lists from the EHR, read and write clinical mail, and follow a practice's documented standard operating procedures, positioning the platform as a connective layer across existing clinical software.
Rollout begins September 29 in English and French, excluding the UK and EU
Additional languages will follow, though the new agentic capabilities will not be available in UK or EU markets at launch. Heidi has raised US$436.6 million from investors including Blackbird, General Catalyst, Point72 Private Investments and Headline.
