Boston – September 18, 2026 -- Hilton Boston Back Bay has launched an executive retreat package built around Real Tennis, an 800-year-old sport with fewer than 50 courts remaining worldwide, in partnership with the Tennis & Racquet Club of Boston.
Hotel pairs 15,000 sq ft conference center with rare royal sport access
The Sport of Kings Executive Retreat gives corporate meeting groups access to the Tennis & Racquet Club's historic clubhouse, located steps from Hilton Boston Back Bay's newly renovated 15,000-square-foot conference center and the Hynes Convention Center. Real Tennis, also called Royal Tennis, predates modern tennis and was once played by monarchs including Henry VIII.
Package targets meeting planners seeking differentiated corporate retreat formats
The offering includes a teamwork-focused on-court clinic run by the Club's pros, use of the sport's traditional wooden racquets and hand-stitched balls, and guided match play for small groups. Corporate clients can add a professional exhibition match or a private courtside cocktail reception to the itinerary.

The package launch coincides with citywide programming marking America's 250th anniversary, as visitors explore Boston's colonial and founding-era history. The Tennis & Racquet Club, founded in 1902, is internationally recognized for its stewardship of Real Tennis and maintains one of the sport's few remaining playing courts.
